Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-08-09

Anchor in Chatham Bay, Isla del Coco, Costa Rica, amazing day today, started with rain then it cleared out and now the sun is intense, light breeze from the SW, flat seas in this side of the island, air temperature is 82F same as the Ocean, mild current in first dive for both groups then in second dive one of the groups.

Diving Manuelita, had light easy current, visibility up to 100Ft of water while on the opposite side of the island in Alcyone the other group was having strong current with a visibility of 50Ft.

In both cases they were getting amazing dives with tons of hammerheads, Alcyone had some Galapagos and a big school of hammerheads, Manuelita had a Tiger shark, a handful of eagle rays, lots of marble rays, the hammerheads coming super close to the divers a manta ray and tons of other fish.

Between first and second dive we took guests out to the island for a walk, to see the pirate´s carvings on the rocks and the famous COUSTEAU´S ROCK, walking on the beach and up to the hill to get the million-dollar view from the top looking down to the sea, you can see the reef, white sand and the boats. Guests and crew doing well
