NBA at anchor at Roca Partida on 250 ft of water, 4 shots out. Weather today has been choppy, NNE winds 15 -20 kts making 4-7 ft seas from same direction and a 6 ft long swell from NW. Clear sky with some clouds, Air temp 25C and water temp 27C.
Today at Roca dives has been amazing, despite the choppy to rough seas, as boarding and offloading the skiffs has been challenging.
First dive was crazy, school of yellowfin tunas, lot of sharks reef white tips, silvertips and some Galapagos, dolphins the whole dive swimming around and passing close but the best was a huge whale shark swimming close the rock, but only a few divers saw it.
Despite the strange current going everywhere, everyone had a great dive. Second dive was great but not as good as the first one as there were no more dolphins and nobody saw the whale shark. But tunas, sharks and mantas were everywhere. Viz was around 15 mts, but it started to decrease. Strong current from East to West.
Weather forecast showed winds will drop down but it still blowing with 20 kts gusts. boarding divers to skiff and offloading them has been challenging today as the high seas making the skiffs going up and down tanking some seas on the dive platform. We will go to Cabo Pearce to dive there tomorrow.
