Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2026-01-09

San Benedicto, anchor in 50Ft of water, is a beautiful windy day, wind doing 18kts NE, flat seas at the Canyon however I can see the swell building up waves starting to break in the SW corner of San Benedicto. Air temperature is 75F, today ocean is 76F, little current to the west, visibility averages 50Ft, blue skies with little whites in it.

We did our check dive at Leather Bass alley, all guests came back happy most of them saw mantas, and lots of other fish including many lobsters and of course the most common joke about how delicious they look.

Second dive was done at the Canyon, Pablo our Guide says he saw six mantas total, two black and 4 chevron, most guests amazed about the hammerhead sharks and how close they were coming. The cleaning station was full of Galapagos, silver tips and the white tip reef sharks always around, guides report the horse eyed jacks are schooling near the receptor, two really good dives, everyone happy.

Guests and crew doing good.
