Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2026-02-19

Weather: Sunny day, a few low clouds. N´ly 3-6 ft seas and white caps off the point and calm seas in the bay. Wind 14-19 kts N´ly.  Air temp 23C. Water temp 25C.

NBA at anchor in Cabo Pearce, Socorro Island on 90 ft of water 2 shots out. Yesterday afternoon the ride south got better as the seas changed a bit to the north, taking the seas from the stern making it a smoother ride. Crew drill was carried out.

Before arrive to San Benedicto I decided to change the plan and go straight to Cabo Pearce as there were 4 boats already in Canyon/Fondeadero in San Benedicto, as the weather is not good and other boats are at anchor on sheltered sites. To avoid being crowded and to offer the 4 dives to our guests we came straight to Cabo Pearce.

We arrived this morning and NUS and private sailboat ¨Sea Hawk¨ were already here. We took the first dive schedule.

We did check dive inside the bay in shallow reef and it was really good for a check dive, no current, no tide, good viz and warm water 25 C. All divers enjoyed, they saw, lobsters, some octopus, a lot reef fishes, one manta and one of the groups they could see a tiger shark when they were on the safety stop. Viz was good 15-18 mts. They were super happy.

Second dive was amazing, we dove on the lava finger and they were 5-7 mantas on the cleaning station, swimming around and getting cleaned. Some saw a few single hammerheads and one group said they saw a school of 20ish. Also there saw reef white tips, reef fishes, clarion angel fishes. But everyone was hyped with the mantas.

We are going to do 2 more dives here and after the last dive we will move to Punta tosca for dive tomorrow there.

Everyone is happy.
