Weather: At The Canyon San Benedicto Island, Cloudy sky, Wind 5-8 kts from North. Seas 1 ft, air temp 23°C. Water temp 25C.
Today we are at anchor at the Canyon in San Benedicto Island. We arrived last night from Socorro Island. We did check in at the navy base yesterday afternoon and everything went well. After that we started to make our way to the Canyon.
This morning has been bit chill as it was completely cloudy and there was a cool breeze, but the diving has been amazing. Dives have been full of sharks; everyone is super happy.
First dive the viz wasn’t so good, it was like 10 mts, but the animals were everywhere, hammerheads, Galapagos, silkies. reef white tips, silvertips, a couple of mantas and the best were the dolphins that were around the Canyon and the cleaning station. Everyone was so happy. There was no current.
Second dive got even better as there was a light current to the West and the viz got better to 20 mts. Amazing dive, a school of 40ish hammerheads, and more other sharks, 3 mantas and some dolphins. All divers came out from the water saying that they could hear a whale singing the whole dive.
Day has been amazing so far. We will do 2 more dives here and will stay overnight here and will move to the Boiler tomorrow morning.
