Around 0700 this morning we got underway and anchored closer to Los Islotes to wait for our pangas for the sea lion dives. Pangas arrived right at 0800 and we were able to get our divers into the two boats by about 0830. And the dive was great. Very good visibility with a huge ball of sardines in the area and lots of playful sea lions. Guests came back raving about it. The second dive left the ship around 1130.

The winds that had been blowing for the morning died down to almost nothing and the place was gorgeous. A large school of barracudas was sighted as well as a curious sea lion. Lots of reef fishes to look at as well. After dinner, we had 4 brave guests interested in the night dive. They had very calm conditions under a nearly full moon. At least one octopus, countless morays, and a variety of nudibranchs and crustaceans were seen. Everybody really enjoyed the day.

There were scorpionfish, nudibranchs, and plenty of puffers to be seen. All guests had a good time. The plan for the rest of today is to make two dives this afternoon at San Fransiquito and

This morning we took the RHIB offshore to El Bajo de San Francisco for dive 1 and everyone loved it. Beautiful conditions with a mild current. The rock was full of life, schooling sardines, a school of machetes, snappers and grouper, octopus, turtles, lots of beautiful soft corals, black corals, and sea fans. A gorgeous dive.

After the dive, the RHIB when out to find the pod and everyone got a chance to jump in and snorkel with the dolphins. After that, we ran 30nm up to Coronado’s and anchored for the night.
Read MoreThis morning we did two dives at the north end, the first dive at Las Galeras and 2nd at Bajo Sandia, a couple of miles north of the island. Both dives were very good, with very cool topography, lots of reef fishes, and beautiful visibility today. At lunchtime, we moved to the south end and we’re diving a reef right at the south tip of the lighthouse, a nice reef that sits at around 40-50′, with nice fish life and some healthy soft corals and sea fans. And just as I’m writing this I can see a big pod of bottlenose dolphins hanging around the rhib and the divesite, so hoping the divers get to see them on their dive.

We ran overnight back up to Loreto and arrived at our first site at 0930. Our checkout dive was done at honeymoon cove on the west side of Danzante. The dive went well, a nice reef with lots of reef fish, morays, and a couple of turtles. V
