Hello from the Nautilus Explorer
Another awesome day aboard the Nautilus Explorer, on our way to clarion Island after an awesome day at Roca Partida. Even though I didn’t get a chance to dive at Roca, I experienced a different kind of excitement, swimming with Humpback Whales!! These creatures are beautiful and majestic all in one and I will never forget my first swim with them. I slid into the water from one of our zodiacs and there… 20 feet below me there they were… 3 adults and 1 young Humpback Whale. It was the coolest thing I have ever experienced. I have seen quite a few whales while working aboard the Nautilus, always driving zodiac or seeing from the ship, but up until now never had the chance to actually get in the water with them. I want to thank our divemasters and Captain for this opportunity – if it wasn’t for their years of experience and know-how diving Socorro, I don’t think there would have been any chance of having this kind of once-in-a-lifetime experience. thanks guys.
On another note the ship is in great shape, the guests onboard are having a great time and we are all looking forward to exploring Clarion Island.

roca partida, ein fels mitten im pazifik. wunderbar klares wasser. auf der ostseite hatten wir jede menge weisspitzenhaie, die teils in den grotten schliefen und teils umherschwammen und uns ohne grosse scheu naeher kamen. beim auftauchen am schlauchboot kamen drei buckelwale. sie blieben eine weile und wir konnten sie schnorchelnd aus der naehe ansehen, einfach grossartig. am spaeteren nachmittag sahen wir noch einige grosse galapagoshaie, leider recht tief. gruesse an die daheimgebliebenen (uschi, damian, gianna)

Anne + Bernd: wir lagen am spaeten Nachmittag im Wirlpool und haben die Wale beobachtet. Direkt hinter der Nautilus (5 Sterne). Dazu gab es Corona und Tequila Sunrise.
Ein klasse Tag! Ein schoener erster Tauchgang mit vielen Weissspitzenriffhaien, Muraenen etc. Danach Schnorcheln mit Buckelwalen! Ein Weibchen mit Kalb und maennlichem Begleiter. Unbeschreiblich!!! Was gibt es schoeneres! Auch die naechsten Tauchgaenge waren sehr schoen. Beim vierten Tauchgang gaben sich die Haie die Flosse in die Hand. Silver-Tipp-, Galapagoss-, Hammer-Haie und natuerlich die Riffhaie! Klasse hier! Detlef
