After missing the 2014 Guadalupe season for a year in commercial shipping it’s great to be back in the land of the Great White Sharks and great to be out here on the beautiful Nautilus Belle Amie.
The energy onboard this past month has been great, with the crew all working like a well oiled machine and feeding off the good vibes of happy guests experiencing a stellar 2015 great white shark season.
We’ve had all kinds of surprises in the last couple of weeks, including a young humpback whale who spent about 20 minutes hanging around the cages on the last trip. That is the first time in 7 seasons I’ve seen a humpback in the bay here, let alone from the cages! Yesterday we had a hammerhead cruise by, and today several guests who were standing on the back deck got to see a full breach by a white shark.
We had multiple whities today, around 7 or 8 individuals visited us at various times, with a few hanging around with us all day.
Weather in the anchorage these past couple of days has been sunny, warm and calm, with water temp between 22 and 23C.
