I first dived San Benedicto and Roca Partida (as well as Isla Clarion) in 1990, a quarter of a century ago! It was far and away the most exciting, adventurous diving I had ever done (and I’ve done a fair bit of that). When I got home the tales I told were true but barely believable by anyone.
Time has passed and the ocean has changed. There aren’t so many of the big sharks around, though there are still some. And the Giant Manta population, is if anything, greater than it was. And the interactions were just as amazing. So thankfully, these islands remain as wondrous and exciting, as ever!
