Captains Noon Report – Explorer – 2018-05-28

Location: La Reyna, Sea of Cortez
Status: Calm Water Temp 74-76 Vis 60 plus feet
Weather: Winds NE 5 Swell-

Made a quick stop off in San Jose then off to the Sea of Cortez for a much needed break from the swell. It is quite nice up here and the run to La Reyna was very pleasant. Dolphins were smacking their tails on the surface early in the morning. Guests were able to come out on the bow of the boat and watch them ride the bow wave. We got in at 1130 dropped the anchor and briefed the guests for a noon dive. The sea lions were sun bathing and all guests were able to check them out while diving. We had three different species of nudibranch, a school of barracudas and a scorpion fish on the first dive. We are doing another dive then headed back to Cabo San Lucas. Then we are going to run close to the islands to see if we can catch mobula rays jumping out of the water or a whale and if we are lucky a whale shark. It’s really nice up here. All guests & crew are happy.
