Captain’s Noon Report-Explorer – 2019-01-05

Location:Soccoro Isla, Cabo Pearce
Weather:24C water temp, and good visibility at 30M

Beautiful, Sunshine 2/10 and Hot on the dive deck. Wind: calm at anchor, 5 knots on pta. Seas: 1′ swell at anchorage. There was a strong current from the north and the divers saw numerous mantas and several hammerheads. One group had four dolphins interact with them during the dive. Dive 2 was excellent with good visibility at 30m and 25C, but much less current than the first dive. Several mantas were present with all groups, but the eleven dolphins that crashed the dive site and played with the divers set the dive apart as excellent. Yesterday afternoon was “magical” as described by our guests. Both dives had up to seven extreamly interactive mantas, as well as large schools of hammerheads, and several visiting dolphins. once sun set, and full dark was here, we turned on all the lights, and conducted an exciting silkie snorkel with up to a dozen sharks cruising in and out of the blackness around the divers. We concluded the evening with a delicious authentic taco meal on the top deck with music and partly lights. We were fortunate to have a birthday on board, and all sang happy birthday and enjoyed a cake prepared special by the chef.
