Captains Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2019-03-19

Location: Anchored at Cabo Pearce, Socorro Island
Weather: Calm conditions and sunny skies

Yesterday we did one dive at Punta Tosca, but the current was strong, the swell was large, and other than tons of parrot fish not much was seen. So we completed the navy inspection and ended up at Cabo Pearce for the Silky snorkel. Lots of very active sharks. First dive today: Very strong current and very quiet. The last group towards the end of their dive saw yellowfin tunas, and 20 hammerheads with a dolphin in the middle, but otherwise nobody saw any big animals. Second Dive: No current and 4 Mantas that played with every diver circling the divers for 30 minutes or more… and Humpbacks!!! During the safety stop a cow, calf pair leisurely swam by. The smiles were huge on the way back to the boat.
