Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2019-05-22

Location: El canyon

Weather: Winds: 20/23NW Waves: calm Visibility: 15 meters (ash from the volcano in the water) Water temperature: 23 degrees. Medium currents from NW to SE

We slept at El Fondeadero and today we are the first here to choose our schedule. The wind is blowing medium-hard and I prefer not to go to the Boiler to maintain the balance between safety for our passengers and good dives. Here in El Canyon we are having really good dives too. Visibility was not the best in the first dive but was full of underwater life: manta, a school of hammerheads, a few Galapagos, minimum 20 dolphins in all the dive, and silver tip sharks. The second dive was at El Canyon and the visibility is better – around 15/20 meters. They are able to see 2 big Galapagos, 2 mantas and literal words “wall of hammerheads”. We had a really good trip and the guests are very happy.
