Captain’s Noon Report – Under Sea – 2019-09-03

Location: Lat 29 08.04N Long 118 17.01W
Weather: Light winds, calm seas, clear sunny sky. Water Visibility 100+ft, water temperature 19- 20C.
Status: At anchor at Guadalupe Island in 261 ft depth.

We arrived last night at Guadalupe and as soon as we passed the north point, the seas were totally flat. There were a couple of dolphins with a calf swimming off the bow of the boat. This morning has been a beautiful day, flat seas and a very light breeze with sunny skies and sharks! Sharks action has been good to start the trip. Since 6:45am when the first shark appeared, they have been constantly here. We have had a couple of breaches on the surface from the same shark trying to get the tuna. We have seen around 10 different sharks. Mace is one that we have identified so far. 4-5 females and the rest males. Looking forward for a great afternoon.
