Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-03-03

Location: The Canyon
Weather: Mostly cloudy skies, Wind WNW 10-20 knots, Swell WSW 2-3′, Visibility 60′, Water Temperature 73-74 F
Status: Anchored between the Canyon and the Fondedero

We continued to have a smooth ride all the way to the anchorage last night and spent a comfortable, if windy, night here on the south end of the island. The first dive we jumped off the back of the boat and had current taking us to the west making for a nice drift through the Fondeadero. The second dive we did starting at Manta Rock and heading out towards the receptor buoy. Great animal encounters so far: a huge school of hammerheads and a large chevron manta. Everyone is excited after the second dive and looking forward to the next!
