Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-03-05

Location: Roca Partida
Weather: Mostly sunny skies, Wind NE 10 knots, Swell NW 4-6′, Visibility 80′, Water Temperature 73-74 F
Status: Anchored at Roca Partida

Yesterday we finished the day with a 3rd dive at Cabo Pearce followed by our inspection at the Navy and a silky snorkel at Punta Tosca. The seas were still quite large when we departed last night, but the ride steadily improved as the night went on. This morning there was a pod of false killer whales greeting us when we arrived and a few lucky divers got to see them underwater on the first dive. Otherwise, we have had an immense amount of tuna, but only whitetip sharks and no mantas today. After the second dive, we were able to have great false killer whale encounters from the inflatables. We are planning on staying at Roca for a second day so we are hoping that the dives will be quite excellent this afternoon.
