Diving Day 1. Arrived at San Benedicto Island. First day of diving. Check out dives at “The Canyon”. Humpback whales are breaching nearby. Saw a school of Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks and several Giant Manta Rays. Next two dives at “The Boiler” treated us to White Tip Shark and Galapagos Shark sightings. Never cold during the dives with our 7mm hoodie and 7mm wetsuit. Dry towels, hot chocolate and snacks greet us after the dives. Great food and service onboard. Safety is top priority. Tonight, we enjoyed “Mexican Street Tacos’ on deck, followed by popsicles.

Diving Day 2. Arrived at Socorro Island. Beautiful anchorage at Cabo Pearce. A couple of other dive boats are nearby. We enjoyed all four dives at the submerged lava finger today. Strong current at the tip. Enjoyed many encounters with Giant Manta Rays, White Tip Sharks, Dolphins, and Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks. Silky Shark circled our group during one of the safety stops. Lots of great fish life here, big and small. After the final dive of the day, enjoyed warming up in the hot tub on deck. The view of the lava formations on Socorro Island is magnificent. Enjoyed group movie night watching “Finding Nemo”. More delicious food and excellent service from the captain and crew.

Diving Day 3. The weather was windy overnight. Continental breakfast preceded our first dive of the day. Another great 7:30 am dive at Cabo Pearce with Giant Manta Rays, White Tip Sharks, schools of skip jacks, and even a Tiger Shark sighting. Hot breakfast and coffee were waiting for us when we returned. Anchor was pulled up and our next stop was at the Navy Base area of Socorro Island for naval inspection.
