Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-11-17

Location: Punta Entrada – 24-32.5N, 112-04.79W

Status: Winds NW 8-10knts, Seas gentle 2-3 NW.

Weather: Clear skies. Another beautiful day.

There were numerous dolphins spread over a large area, and while they did not stay to play with any snorkelers there were good sightings from the pangas. We relocated last night to an anchorage South of Isla Magdalena, and the first dive began around 0800 just off the sea lion beach north of Punta Entrada. Conditions were very good for this area, with cold (68F) but fairly clear waters. Visibility was around 60 ft. Divers saw turtles, mobulas, a great variety of fish, and many of the invertebrates that call these waters home. As I write the dive groups are in the same area for a second dive. Afterwards we intend to relocate to the south in search of the submarine wreck for our third dive today.
