Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-11-21

Location: The Boiler, Roca Partida

Status: Winds NW @5-8knts, Seas NW @ 6feet. Skies clear.

We completed two more dives yesterday at the Boiler, with more warm, clear waters and mantas for all. Smooth overnight crossing, with a gentle rocking through the night, to arrive at Roca Partida all to ourselves! Both dives so far have been utterly amazing. Dive one had multiple dolphins as well as sightings of hammerheads, galapogos, silky, silvertip, and whitetip sharks. Off the North point of the island a massive school of skipjack tuna were present for the entire dive. Some feeding action with the sharks among the school. Dive two was much the same, but with the surprise appearance of a full-grown whale shark. It made three circuits of the island while divers were in the water and all were able to get a good look. Giant yellow fin tuna were interspersed through all the action. Waters warm at just above 80F and visibility around 80 feet. So far today has been world class diving.
