Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2021-02-10

Location: Anchored near fondeadero today, just to the west of the prohibited anchorage for the Canyon

Weather: Today is overcast and a little cool with a NW breeze 5-10kts and wavelets in the anchorage.

Anchored near us is the Solmar V. The Vortex is at the Boiler and one more boat also at the Boiler but I’m not sure who. The transit south yesterday was perfect, so calm and smooth, with a pod of dolphins escorting us for a while in the morning. The diving has been great so far. We did the checkout dive off the stern in around 45′ of water and the divers drifted towards Fondeadero. Some white-tips and a manta drive-by, plus some guitar rays in the sand. Dive 2 we dropped them with the inflatables near the canyon and everyone had an epic hammerhead dive. 2 schools of around 20-30 each and they were coming in real close to all the divers. The last group also had a big chevron manta that came in for a visit. All the guests and crew are doing great!
