Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2021-03-02

Location: Anchored at Roca Partida today, 0.20nm east of the rock.

Weather is beautiful, sunny, light breeze from the NW and a long 5-7′ swell from the NW also. Some occasional moderate rolling with a northerly current holding the vessel broadside at times.

Today at Roca it has been epic! Amazing how much it’s changed from one trip to the next. It is now the new manta heaven, with maybe around 5 really big giant mantas just spending all dive every dive with everyone! We drop in and they are waiting for us. We come up and they are circling during the safety stop. Besides for out giant friends there was also a school of hammerheads at the north end on one of the dives for a lucky few, plus some big schools of small yellow-fin tuna as well as some solo giant tunas. Plus lots of silver-tips and galapagos sharks around as well. Weather looks good for tomorrow so our plan is to spend a second day here at Roca then finish with our last day of this trip back at San Benedicto. Guests and crew are good.
