Captain’s Noon Report – Under Sea – 2021-04-17

Location: Anchored at El Canyon today at San Benedicto island.

Weather: Moderate to strong winds from the NW 15-18kts with a southern hemisphere ground swell of 4 ft with a long interval.

Status: Visibility is around 40-50ft. Water temp around 75 degrees.

The canyon has been full of life. All the divers on the first dive of the day spent the majority of their time with a friendly pod of dolphins, as well as meandering Galapagos sharks and all of the Jacks. For the second dive, the dolphins left for the deep, but massive schools of hammerheads replaced the dolphins and did not disappoint. Galapagos, silver tips and pelagic white tip sharks were also in the vicinity, and of course the Jacks. A moderate to strong East to west current is wrapping past the Lava field and into the canyon. Guests and crew doing great!
