Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2021-05-24

Location: Roca Partida

Status: 240 ft under the keel and 4.5 shots paid out

Weather: very windy, win up to 13 kts.


Good afternoon everyone, vessel anchored at Roca Partida, 240 ft under the keel and 4.5 shots paid out, very windy morning, wind was up to 13 kts but has decreased during the day, seas are from N 3- 5 ft and occasional swell from nw up to 7 ft, medium current from north to south and clear blue sky. Two spectacular dives already done, giant school of bonitos and silkys swimming on top of it, small school of Galapagos sharks, white tips resting in the balconies and silver tips swimming on the east side of the rock, very important to mention that during both dives a whale shark was passing by, one of the groups saw it five times during one dive, also this whale shark come to the surface and was making circles around the skiff while recovering divers from the water, they were more than happy by seeing this giant of the sea so close to them, water temperature was 22 Celsius degrees and Viz 20 mts Third dive is taking place right now and one more is schedule for the rest of the day. We will have dinner and pick up anchor to relocate it again since we are going to stay one more day here. All guests & crew doing great.
