Captain’s Noon Report –Belle Amie – 2021-07-29

Location: Anchored at Guadalupe Island

Weather: Light Winds

We arrived at the anchorage last night around 2100 and got the cages in the water and set up for the morning. A little bit of swell coming into the bay this trip, but we had a pretty comfortable night. First thing in the morning we had a fairly large male shark appear and start running on our bait, he was with us for the first hour-and-a-half or so and then a number of smaller individuals have been with us since. At least three have been visible at the same time, and we suspect there have been four or five total individuals so far. The guests are absolutely loving it, though they seem to have reached shark saturation fairly early. Everybody onboard had seen a shark in water by about 1000 and since then there has only been about half capacity in the cages. But everybody is happy. Lots of people sunning themselves and watching the show from the sundeck. A great day overall.
