The Sea of Cortez has some amazing conditions at the moment. What a pleasure to be able to dive here. We spent the day at a place called Las Animas where we had some awesome dives. The visibility was very good (around 70ft) and there were a lot of fish. We found some friendly turtles that came over to check us out. But for me the highlight of the day has been the sea lion interaction. They were so playful it was unbelievable. I was hovering in mid-water with my legs stretched when a juvenile sea lion swam up to me and put his head on my fins and looked at me. When he saw I was ok with it, he started playing with my fins and biting on them. He played with me for a good two minutes until he went back to the surface for air. All guests in the group got to see the sea lions closeup and some got to interact with them. Such amazing animals. Now we are on our way to the next dive site. Let’s see what tomorrow brings us…
