Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2021-08-12

Location: Espíritu Santo

Weather: Cloudy and SW Wind (3-8kts)

Our first dive today we skiffed and dropped divers on top of El Bajo del Centro. Divers encountered a silky shark, a hammerhead shark, dog snappers, lots of green moray eels, surgeons in vast amounts and other usual reef fish. Current was quite manageable for the first dive. For the second dive we skiffed and dropped divers at the same spot for them to use the immersion line we had set up for them. Divers encountered pretty much the same animals but not the hammerhead shark. Divers did mention that they encountered strong current, fortunately we had already set the immersion line early in the morning. After our second dive we started to get the skiffs back on board, then the anchor and then we got underway to our second dive location of today.

Water Temperature: 26°C

Visibility: 40-50ft
