Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2021-08-14

Location: Guadalupe Island

Weather: Overcast, SE Wind (8-12kts) and SSE Swell (2-3ft)

Yesterday afternoon continued our fantastic action, with multiple sharks approaching the bait right up until we closed the cages at 6:30pm. It was a fantastic first day. The rolling waves from the SE continued for the entire day but started to calm slightly after sunset and overnight. Shark 101 presentation by Pascal. I think I saw some of the thousands of mackerel surrounding our cages spawning this morning, and that could account for the cloudiness we’ve been exposed to today. Still, even with the low visibility, guests are having a great day and almost everybody has been in the water so far. And those that get in are being rewarded with pretty close sightings. And there is a lot of surface activity. When I just left the back deck we had seven sharks in the greater area. So, overall a very good second day, and it will only get better!
