Diving with great white sharks wasn’t something that was even on my radar; honestly the thought of it was terrifying. My boyfriend however, had this at the top of his bucket list as a way to conquer his fear of sharks and the ocean, so I decided this would be an amazing Christmas present for him. I never expected it to be a gift for me too.
After all of my research, Nautilus constantly came up as the best company to dive with so I went with that. And I couldn’t be more thrilled with everything about this experience. The crew, the boat, the food, the passengers we were with… everything was impeccable and beyond expectations.
Personally, I never expected to even get in a cage. I thought I would just allow my boyfriend to enjoy his bucket list moment, I never expected it to become my own bucket list moment. There aren’t really words to describe the magic of being in the water with these animals, or the great honor it is to get to safely and respectfully witness them hunt. They are incredibly beautiful and smart and I have a new found love and respect for them. I would do this trip over and over again. Now I’ve caught the bug and want to get certified so I can experience a whole world of adventure I’ve never even considered before. This was life changing and I want more of it.
