Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2021-10-04

Location: Guadalupe Island

Weather: Clear Skies, Light Wind (4kts), and Calm Seas

Yesterday afternoon our action continued almost non-stop with multiple large adults, male and female, making frequent passes by the cages and actively approaching the bait. Everybody had a fantastic day and divers were in the water right up to closing time.

This morning the action has been pretty slow, with just a few passes so far. Guests have been pretty hesitant to get in the water without the constant action we had yesterday. But, for those willing to dive on our first two rounds of cage dives we saw a huge female. She only made one pass each time, but everybody in the cages got a look at her. She is just so big.

There was no current at all for the morning but I see now that it is starting to come up from the south. Hopefully, that will spread our scent around a bit further in bringing in more action. But even with the mellow day, our guests are still having a great time.

Water temperature: 71°F

Visibility: 85ft
