Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2021-11-07

Location: Las Animas

Weather: Clear Skies, S Breeze (5kts), Swell (1ft)

It is a beautiful day, and no other boats here today. The first dive we did at the north rock had playful sealions and loads of fish all over. The second dive we did at the eastern pinnacles the group dropped down and right away encountered a small school of hammerheads, approx 8-10 loosely schooling, with several little groups spread out here and there. Because of the viz and conditions, everyone was able to get close enough for a good view and exciting encounter. Once again there were more sea lions playing with the group and some big schools of fish. A fantastic morning of diving today so far.

Yesterday we finished with a great late afternoon dive at La Reina and then a night dive at San Rafaelito where they found four-five big green turtles resting around the rock, octopus as well as lots of other night critters.

We’ll do two more dives here at Las Animas and tomorrow we’ll probably dive to San Diego reef, San Francisco, and a twilight dive at El Cayo de San Jose.

Visibility: 80ft+
