Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2022-01-04

Location: Roca Partida

Weather: Clear Skies, Light NW Wind, Calm Seas

Yesterday the last 2 dives in Roca Partida were ok, we saw a whale shark just for a few minutes and after the 3rd dive we could not see it anymore, we saw as well many reef fish a couple of tunas and some Galapagos sharks water and moderate current at the end. After the last dive, the wind increased, and as well the period of the swell was shorter so I checked the weather and I decided to move to San Benedicto and try for two more dives at the boiler and 2 at the Canyon, the guests were happy for the decision.

Today the first dive was amazing at the Boiler many mantas below the water and at the surface, dolphins arrived to say hello to all divers. The 2nd dive at the boiler was kind of calm because we encountered a manta but that was it, it stayed with us for a while, a couple of reef fish, bonitas fish, moderated current, our plan is to finish the day here at the Canyon and then prepare everything for departure tomorrow at 4 am.

Water temperature: 77°F
