Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2022-02-11

Location: The Canyon

Weather: Clear Skies, ENE Wind (5-8kts), Swell (1-4ft)

We awoke this morning to perfect conditions, very settled seas, and no wind at all for the first dive. We did our check-out dive right off the swim step, everybody enjoyed the opportunity to get things dialed in and our timing on dive two was much better. The second dive was at the canyon itself and conditions were great, with good visibility and mild current plus lots of sharks, silver tips, whitetips, Galapagos, and a school of 12+ hammerheads all in the area around the transmitter. Plus two black mantas to round out the experience. All divers came up very happy. We plan for two more here tonight and then we will have our taco night on the top deck before shifting to the boiler if conditions remain calm for an overnight there before tomorrow’s dives.

Water temperature: 77°F

Visibility: 60-100ft
