Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2022-04-08

Location: The Canyon

Weather: Ovecasted Skies, Light Wind, SSW Swell (3-4ft)

We completed our transit and arrived to anchor last night around midnight. Conditions were very calm through the night and we woke up to calm winds and mild seas. We ran our first dive at the Fondeadero as a checkout dive from the stern. There were some white tips sharks and Galapagos as well as at least one black manta. Our second dive was run at the canyon. The current had picked up slightly from dive one and some of the less experienced divers struggled a bit, but almost everybody made it to the cleaning stations and had great action from the Silvertips, Galapagos, and two mantas. In all, the divers have loved their first morning. We plan for two more dives here this afternoon and then we’ll have taco night on the top deck before moving to anchor overnight at the boiler, where we will dive tomorrow.

Water temperature: 74°F

Visibility: 90ft
