Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady- 2023-03-08

Currently at the north end of the san jose channel southbound. Beautiful day today. Gentle breeze, 25C, partly cloudy.

Yesterday we searched all around Agua Verde area and didn’t come across any whales unfortunately. We anchored around 1615 and had a great hike, 2 people went diving at Roca Solitaria with Keoni and they had a nice dive, they saw around 8 horn sharks they said. Viz was low and it was cold of course but they enjoyed it. That was all followed by another of our famous Taco nights and then a quiet night at anchor.

This morning we got underway at 0700 heading south from Agua Verde. We’ve managed to spend some time with 2 different humpacks. One early after departing breached a few times for us and was lazing around doing some pectoral fin slaps. We stayed with him about an hour. And just now we spent about 30 minutes with another humpback in the san jose channel. He was moving but we paralleled him for awhile and got some nice encounters.
