We had two very good dives yesterday at the canyon. Hammerheads were present on both, as well as the usual suspects at the cleaning station. Two mantas were spotted on Dive 3 also. Following the dives, we had taco night on the top deck. All the guests agree it was a perfect first day.
We spent the night at anchor in the protection there and got underway early this morning for the boiler. So far, we have had two dives, and they were both wonderful. Dive 1 was dominated by dolphins interacting with our divers for the whole hour. The highlight was a very tiny baby dolphin cruising with its mother.
Later in the dive, at least one manta made a distant pass and around half of our divers got a look at a very large tiger shark. Dive two was manta time. At least 5 individuals were cruising past all divers. There was a moderate north current on dive one, but no current at all on dive two. Our plan is for two more dives here this afternoon then an overnight run to Roca Partida for tomorrow.
