Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-04-21

Good afternoon, everyone,

NEX anchored at Roca Partida, NW wind 10-12 kts NW seas 4-6 ft, water temperature 24 Celsius, Visibility 15-20 Meters, and air temperature 24 Celsius.

Crossing last night was very rocky but the wind and seas have been better since we arrived. So far we have done 2 dives, very sharky dives. During both dives our divers did see Galapagos sharks, silver tips, and white tips, and one of the groups saw a hammerhead, lots of lobsters, and a big school of tuna fish.

When returning to the boat with one of the groups we had the opportunity to see a whale, mother and calf, breaching very close from the skiff, I will say 50 meters. The guest in the skiff got very excited. We have 2 more dives here and after dinner will move to San Benedicto.
