Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-05-05

Hi Everyone,

NEX anchored at Socorro Island, diving Cabo Pearce, NW wind 15-20 kts, NW seas 4-6 ft outside the finger and 2-3 ft wrapping swell inside the anchorage. Arrived here around 0600.

We have done 2 great dives, with lots of manta action during both dives. In the second dive, I saw a pod of false killer whales from the surface and a few divers did see them underwater. Hopefully, they stay for the next dive. Also, our divers saw Galapagos sharks, white tips, lots of reef fish, lobsters, and a lot of mantas.
