Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-05-08

Good afternoon, everyone,

NEX anchored at Socorro Island, diving Cabo Pearce.

So far, we have done 2 dives and number 3 just started, weather conditions are kind of rough, NW wind gusting up to 20 knots, 1-3 ft swell inside the finger, noticed south swell, and outside the finger, there are 2-4 ft seas.

During dive 1 visibility was bad, possibly 10 meters, yet, our divers did see a few mantas and scattered hammerheads. Dive number 2 was much better regarding visibility. Also, many mantas joined our divers for almost the entire dive. One of the groups did see some dolphins while others also saw a tiger shark. Despite the windy day guests are having a good time.
