Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-05-08

Gallant Lady is currently anchored at Punta Arenas. The wind is northerly 10kts, 1′ chop, and the sky is clear. Air temp 28C.

This morning we started off from Saltito at 0700 to look for mobulas. The rhib was out until 1030, no mobulas this morning in that area but we did come across 3 pods of dolphins, including 2 pods of commons and a pod of bottlenose. The guests spend a lot of time with them. In the last half hour, they spent with a humpback mom and calf, breaching and tail slapping, watching from the rhib.

After everyone was back onboard, we headed down here to Punta Arenas and we are going to do the warm-up dive now. After the dive, we’ll head north again up the side of Cerralvo towards La Reina to see if we can find any big fish along that area.
