Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2023-05-09

Anchor at Canyon, Winds: N 15 -16 knots sometimes gust around 17 knots, Seas: NW 1-43 ft long period of swell.

Yesterday we finished our day with wonderful dives at Pearce, the visibility was decreasing after midday but the dives were awesome. We encountered a Humpback whale for a moment and it was amazing!! There were mantas everywhere and a couple of dolphins too.

Then we moved to the navy for inspection. They came onboard and we took an hour to finish it and then we sailed directly to San Benedicto and spent the night at anchor in the south.

Today we moved early morning to Boiler and both dives were very good with a couple of mantas. Some of the group could hear the dolphins and just 1 group enjoyed it for a while. The dive conditions were good, just that the swell started increasing after the 1st one.

We enjoyed another very nice dive with some chevron mantas and some big tunas around and a school of hammerheads around 13 of them. The people are very happy and we are going to perform 2 more dives at the Canyon as the conditions in the boiler started increasing.
