Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-05-29

Today Gallant Lady is once again around Cerralvo. At the moment doing a checkout dive at Punta arenas. The wind is from the ENE 10 knots, 1′ seas. The sky is mostly clear, air temp 28C.

Started the day with a good mobula session at Punta Arenas lighthouse, also found some dolphins there. A lot of mobulas around there right now, lots of jumpers. Visibility is a little green but not horrible. Maybe 10-15m. Water temp 23C. After the mobula morning, we anchored here at “the Notch” and the guests are in the water now doing their checkout dive. After the dive, we will head north up the west side of the Cerralvo channel searching that area. Yesterday evening we found some dolphins and Bryde’s whales up by La Reina and watched them from the boat. The plan for tomorrow is to search the San Jose channel and out to Las Animas in the afternoon.
