Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2023-06-02

Anchor at Fondeadero, Winds: N 12-4 kts sometimes gust around 20 knots, Seas: NW 1-3ft long period of swell.

Yesterday we finished our day at Pearce with beautiful dives, we encountered around 5 hammerheads and 2 mantas very close to the clean station. The visibility was around 20 mts and the water temp around 24°C.

After we finished dinner we picked up the anchor and sailed directly to San Benedicto. We arrived at 0030 and we spent the night at anchor. Today the 1st dive was epic!!, we encountered everything and more, one group saw a school of around 80 hammerhead sharks, Tiger sharks, around 4 mantas, and 20 Pseudo Orcas which were swimming from the clean station to the Fondeadero. This dive was epic in different ways.

The 2nd dive was good, not as good as the 1st one but still we had some action, a couple of mantas around, silver tips, and Galapagos sharks. The visibility is not the best but is very workable, around 35 ft, with moderate current heading to the W. We are going to perform 2 dives more and then depart from here to Cabo.
