Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-06-02

Good afternoon, everyone, NEX anchored at Socorro island, diving Cabo Pearce.

We have 2 dives so far, dive number 1 was excellent, all divers saw dolphins, mantas, hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, and lots of fish. All of them surfaced more than happy. Dive number 2 was good, our divers did see a few mantas, and some scattered sharks, lobsters, octopus, and the usual reef fish.

We have 15 kts wind from NNW and 3-5 ft swell out the lava finger but we are protected inside the bay. We have 2 more dives to do here and after dinner will heave up the anchor and head to Roca Partida. Dive conditions are good, with a light current to the south, visibility of 20 meters, and water temperature of 24 Celsius
