Today the Gallant Lady was searching north, from San Francisco, San Jose channel, and Las Animas. The wind today was strong from the south, 15-20kts this morning dropping out in the afternoon. Air temp was 22C this morning (cold wind) and warming up in the afternoon to 28C.
The search around San Francisco and San Jose channels didn’t turn up anything until we went to the east side of San Jose island where we watched a sperm whale from the Gallant Lady for a little while, but it didn’t want to get too close. Then we went for a dive and snorkel at Las Animas and everyone had a good time with all the sealions there.
When we left the seas had calmed down nicely and we continued searching south of las Animas late afternoon, finding the same sperm whale again and spending a little time with it. Now heading south back to La Ventana to anchor for the night and be in position for some mobulas tomorrow morning. Will be searching around Cerralvo all day tomorrow.
