Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-06-07

Gallant Lady is searching around south Cerralvo today, currently at the SE corner a mile offshore. The wind is NE 10kts, seas 2′, sky clear. Water temp 26C at the surface today. Yesterday at Las Animas 23C was down to 15m depth. Visibility is beautiful out here offshore, 80ft easily. Around la Ventana visibility is green and around 8-9m.

This morning the RHIB headed out at 0700 and we found a big school of mobulas at Bahia de los Muertos and had a good time snorkeling with them along with the mango wind panga. Then the divers got in the water with a pod of bottlenose and had a good look at them. After that, they spent 20 minutes close to a humpback that was traveling south.

Since breakfast we’ve been searching around the area hoping for some Orcas but no luck so far. We’ll stay in the south today and finish with a night dive/snorkel tonight around Punta arenas.
