Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2023-06-10

We are diving Cabo Pearce today, 18.46.395N – 110.54.365W, anchor resting in 100Ft of water, 3 shots of chain holding the anchor.

This morning was dead calm, the sun was high and guests were happy and appreciative of the long night of good sleep they had. We got ready and went for the dive. The wind started to pick up and by the end of the dive, the wind was doing 18kts and the waves were 3 feet or so all from the NW.

Inside the bay, the ocean is nice and flat. Today the sky is clear, loads of mantas, lots of them feeding on the surface, most of them come down to cruise around, and back to the feeding. A couple of them was friendly and stayed with the guests. A green turtle came by to say hi and left. Loads of small fish on the reef, clarion angel fish hovering over the reef waiting for a manta to clean but mantas are on the feeding and do not care for cleaning.

Cabo Pearce is a good place, and guests are enjoying it. One more dive and then we are going to head to the navy.
