Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-07-04

Clear sky, cumulonimbus can be seen south of la Ventana far off, air temp 32, water temp 28, visibility 10mts

This morning we started the day with great mobulas snorkeling. We found a couple of schools in the Bay of Los Sueños and 1 of them was a static school. Guests had a great time. At 0940 we got a report from Armando of risso dolphins in the channel, so we picked up the guests from the mobulas to give it a try.

All guests but 1 came back onboard and off we went. We found the pod of about 30 rissos. They were pretty shy and did not allow any interaction in the water but we could see them at the surface and guest Alex Junior flew his drone. He says there are calves in the pod so that may explain why they were hard to approach.

We are now heading to La Reyna for an after-lunch dive.

Yesterday afternoon we did the check-up dive on the east side of Roca Montana. All guests were comfortable in the water.
