Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-09-04

Today we are in Wafer Bay, boat anchor in 85Ft of water.

We had two very good sites this morning Dos Amigos Grande and Dos Amigos Pequeno. Both sites with little to no current, at times strong surge, the archway in Dos Amigos Grande had schooling fish like the goat fish and blue and yellow stripped snapper. The small Dos Amigos had the cleaning station going not fully but hammerheads were coming in to get clean.

There were also couple of Galapagos sharks that came around, lot of other fish were in the water column, a marble ray went by, there is a thermocline down in 60FT of water. My computer said 81F, visibility averages 80Ft, above the 60Ft mark temperature comes up to 84F, today there is no wind and air temperature is 80F, cloudy skies, flat ocean. The highlight so far was the Humpback whale that is around, this morning the whale was pretty close to the boat.

Yesterday afternoon we took guests for a land tour in Wafer Bay, they loved the time on the island.
