Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2023-09-07

Belle Amie is at Bahia de Los Angeles today. Partly cloudy today with light winds and calm seas in the bay. We had a very calm overnight transit from SPM last night and arrived 0600 outside of the bay.

Jumped in for an early morning dive at 0700 then headed inside the bay to meet the whale shark pangas. All 5 were waiting for us when we dropped anchor and we quickly had everyone away for the first round of whale shark action.

And there was a lot of action! One boat said they counted more than 22 individuals. We sent 5 pangas out and all of them had their own whalesharks to enjoy, several at a time, pretty much all the time. Incredible really. They spent about 3 hours in the first round, came back for lunch, and have already departed again for the second round. When they return in a couple hours, we will get underway for La Paz.
