Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-09-16

8.43.827N – 83.49.553W, anchor in 68Ft of water we are diving south side of Costa Rica just outside an island name Caño island. This is where we did our check dive, everyone did okay, and on that check dive one of the groups saw a humpback whale and her calf, very nice way to start a week of diving. Cloudy skies, loads of humpback whales around the area, lots of other small boats doing whale watching.

There is a layer of nice blue clear water from the surface down to 40Ft, then from there down water has a lot of silt and visibility is not that good. However, you can see 30Ft and the clear water is about 80ft or more. Water and air temperature are 88F.
